No more unsafe mooring practices at offshore Wind Farms
A unique gripping mechanism for safe embarkation in Hs < 2.5 ma. When combined with a stable trimaran hull on the service boat the safety advantage is even greater.
Access to an offshore windfarm boat landing is highly dependent on weather and wave conditions.
Typically, a Crew Transfer Vessel (CTV) hull can reach and transfer technicians to the boat landing when the significant wave height is less than 1.5 meters (Hs). However, slipping poses a significant safety risk. Depending on the location, waves exceeding 1.5 meters (Hs) occur approximately 60% of the time in open sea.
Our gripper system enables safe access even in waves up to 2.5 meters (Hs). With a CTV equipped with our Gripper system in the bow, access can be extended significantly. Non-access time can be reduced to just 30%. However, this value varies depending on the specific wind turbine installation site.
